WMTC is one of the most important conferences within maritime technology, and Danish Shipping is hosting a side event during the conference.

WMTC is held every third year, and the global maritime industry gets together to get inspiration and debate technology solutions. The conference will have a focus on climate solutions.

The shipping industry faces a series of challenges, and technology will have the answers to some of the industry’s biggest challenges such as sustainable fuels, fighting pollution, and cyberattacks.

Danish Shipping is part of the planning committee and is arranging a side event in collaboration with Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping.

“It is clear to us, that the shipping industry is increasingly committing itself to be a part of the solution on the global climatic challenges, having clear visions and goals. It is crucial that this commitment is converted to concrete projects and actions, to demonstrate the solutions of the future, which can accelerate and speed up the green transition. It takes courageous frontrunners across both the industry and the political level, who will be willing to take responsibility and act, the rest of the world can let themselves be inspired by what is happening in Denmark,” states Bo Cerup-Simonsen CEO at Mærsk Mc-Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping.

DMF takes place every second year, and it so happens that it is coinciding with WMTC this year at the Tivoli Conference Center in Copenhagen.

This makes it possible for the participants of the WMTC to experience, what is already available at the marketplace today.
At DMF all Danish and international companies can make themselves and their products and services known to the international shipping industry.

Anne H. Steffensen CEO at Danish Shipping says:
“We are in the process of a green transformation within shipping, and we are so close to see the first major commercial zero-emission ships. The shipping industry can be one of the keys to a significant CO2 reduction in the global balance sheet, and we are in the middle of an insanely exciting time where projects are popping up like mushrooms. I look forward to gathering some of the sharpest people in both shipping and green technology this spring, and I look forward for the world to see and experience what we can do in Denmark”.
