Port of New Orleans Received Four Post-Panamax Cranes to Put to Use

Results are beginning to appear from a $112m investment that was made from an approved construction and infrastructure project by Port NOLA’s Board of Commissioners back in 2019.

Four fully electric 1,600-tonne cranes were delivered to the Port of New Orleans for use at the Napoleon Avenue container terminal.

Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards stated, “This is an exciting example of Louisiana investing in port infrastructure to support the nation’s supply chain of the future,” he continued, “Containerized cargo has more than doubled over the last decade at the Port of New Orleans and this investment positions Louisiana to grow a major economic engine and job creator.”
