The 4,888 teu containership, NYK Delphinus, that suffered an engine fire on Friday has been towed to a location near the Port of Oakland.

A combined effort by the crew, USCG, and Resolve Marine had the blaze under control by Saturday morning. Five tugs from Resolve Marine sprayed water on the hull to help cool it.

As of Sunday morning all decks above the engine room were accessible and fully ventilated. After inspection at anchor the vessel will be towed to Oakland Terminal Berth 22.

There were no injuries among the 24 people onboard and no reported signs of pollution resulting from the incident.
