Walrus Beaches and Rests atop Submarine at Naval Base

Publisert

Walruses have not been found in the Netherland region yet as they are mostly in the polar regions up North.

Earlier this week a female walrus was found to be resting atop a submarine in North Holland which is the first sighting of a walrus in 23 years.

Officials were asked not to board the vessel to disturb the walrus but they wanted to make sure she was ok. After getting a closer look they were able to determine that she has a few marks on her fins but other than that, she appeared to be a healthy animal.

It appears that she may have swam south upwards from the Danish and German coasts.
