PMA approves IRClass to conduct remote surveys

The Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) has approved the Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) to conduct remote surveys.
IRClass has announced that it has been given to go-ahead to conduct remote surveys, by leading flag administrator, the PMA.
IRCLass has developed remote survey capability in response to the pandemic and ensuing travel restrictions, helping ensure vessels stay complaint with IMO conventions and that they sail with valid certificates.
Following the authorisation, IRClass can now conduct ISM, ISPS and MLC audits and in-water surveys.
Mr. Vijay Arora, Joint Managing Director of IRClass said: “We are glad to receive the authorisation from Panama flag for conduct of remote surveys for Interim ISM/ ISPS & MLC audits, occasional in-water surveys and radio surveys.
“This authorisation will help us provide our services during the continued pandemic condition till the situation normalises to enable conduct of physical surveys. Our customers can benefit from access to our surveyors from any location in the world, faster completion along with documented evidence of survey completion…”
