The UK Home Office has confirmed reports of another huge cocaine bust at London Gateway last month, reports Sky News. This is the second time cocaine has been found at the depot in the last two months.

This latest haul totals over 1000kg and is thought to have been en-route from Columbia for the Port of Antwerp in a consignment of banana pulp.

Authorities found the bags containing the illicit drug in a shipping container, and although they don’t think the entire shipment was destined for British streets, they do believe at least some of it would have found its way into the domestic drug market.

– This significant seizure of drugs sends a stark message to criminals in the UK and abroad seeking to smuggle drugs into or through the UK: you will not succeed and we will use every inch of our law enforcement powers to track down and stop drugs from coming into the UK, Home Secretary Priti Patel said.
