Hapag-Lloyd to Use New Cargo Screening Software by NCB

Publisert

National Cargo Bureau (NCB) developed with Exis Technologies a new software system that is able to identify and check details used for booking cargo to sift out dangerous mis-declared or undeclared goods and Hapag-Lloyd has recently signed an agreement to use the services.

Developed as an aid to help deter container fires aboard vessels, the NCB Hazcheck Detect software works in real-time which will help prevent the loading of dangerous cargo on vessels.

“Working with container lines like Hapag-Lloyd will help us to further develop the tool using machine learning and AI techniques to enhance the screening processes as part of our not for profit mission, Safety of Life and Cargo at Sea,” stated NCB President Ian Lennard.
