Maersk to be Taken to Court by Metal Maritime

Publisert Sist oppdatert

On February 11th, Danish shipping company AP Moller Maersk reportedly banned crewmembers aboard its ships from departing for shore. Metal Maritime, a Danish seafarers’ union, asserted shortly after that occurrence, this ban was in violation of Danish maritime labor laws.

Metal Maritime and Maersk have been attempting to resolve this dispute outside of court over the last two months, but reportedly, the attempt at mediation has failed and is likely to result in a court battle.

In the meantime, Maersk announced that since March 11, they were allowing shore leave for their vessels globally.
