Eastern Pacific has made its debut order with China Merchants Jinling. The deal includes four plus two 70,000 tonne-class dual-fuel car carriers. The new vessels will be 199.9 metres in length, with a beam of 38 metres. Total carrying capacity will be 7,050 units.

The ships will feature LNG fuelled engines and a range of environmentally friendly features. Overall, the vessels will emit 99% less sulphur dioxide than similarly sized ships powered by heavy fuel oil and produce 30% less CO2.

The shipyard said this first cooperation between EPS and China Merchants Jinling represents “the client’s high recognition to Jinling shipyard for roro vessel construction”.

To date this year, Jinling has delivered five large size ro-ro vessels.
