Medevac Called for Injured Crew on Chinese Freighter After Explosion
On November 28 an explosion and fire occurred in the engine room aboard the Huatong99 which was sailing northwest of Penglai, China.
The cargo ship sent out a distress call informing of a medical emergency onboard which in turn a helicopter medevac team was deployed to pick up the crew member who was injured with what were determined as serious burns.
The engine room was sealed and the fire was extinguished yet the ship was ultimately disabled by the matter.
A tow boat retrieved the vessel from the Bohai Sea and brought it to Caofedian, Tianjin in China.
