Successful Sustainable Biofuel Voyage Trial for HMM
HMM Runs Biofuel Trial Use
Using a 13,100 TEU containership, South Korea-based HMM deployed the HMM Dream to test a biofuel voyage during a 10 day trial in the Pacific Ocean which turned successful.
The HMM Dream docked at the Port of Busan in South Korea on November 29 and was refueled with sustainable biofuel blends made of biofuel and Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO).
An HMM official stated, “The success of the biofuel voyage will accelerate the commercialization of biofuels.”
