Search and rescue teams are looking for one person still missing from the passenger ferry, KM Karya Indah, that caught fire while transiting a remote part of the Indonesian Archipelago on Saturday morning.

The vessel was en route from Ternate in the province of North Maluku towards Sanana on the island of Sulabes.

Dramatic footage taken by Indonesia’s SAR agency, BARSANAS, shows the vessel engulfed in smoke and flames as passengers abandon ship.

Officials say 274 people have been rescued from the scene without injury. The search for the missing person continues.

“The search is still continuing. Today’s search and rescue plan (will be conducted) by a joint search and rescue team,” head of the Ternate search and rescue team, Muhamad Arafah, said in a statement on Sunday.
