Hurtigruten Expeditions is re-launching its laid-up cruiseship fleet after Covid-19 stalled its debut season. The company is now headed up by Asta Sofie Lassesen and has announced exciting new ports of call.

The expedition branch of the Norwegian coastal line has eight vessels listed in its fleet, with the 15,690-get, 919-passenger Otto Sverdrup set to depart Hamburg on 24 August and the 16,151-dwt, 632-passenger Maud due to leave Dover in September.

Branching out from its concentration on northern latitude sailings, the company has plans to visit the Galapagos, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Canary Island, and Madeira.

Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express has remained in service throughout the pandemic and is led by Hedda Felin from the Arctic town of Tromso.
