Change of watch at Offen Group
Arnt Vespermann, formerly of Hamburg Sud, to take the helm from Claus-Peter Offen.
Claus-Peter Offen is handing over the leadership of Germany’s biggest container company, Offen Group, to Arnt Vespermann, who recently stepped down as CEO of Hamburg Sud.
It is the end of an era for the Hamburg-based company which has been steered through thick and thin by veteran managing-owner and sole shareholder, Claus-Peter Offen since the company’s inception, 50 years ago.
Offen will continue his involvement in the company in the capacity of chairman of a newly established supervisory board and will give his input on strategic decisions, accompanied by his chief financial officer, Ralf Jung.
“I am very happy that with Arnt Vespermann I have found a highly recognised expert of the maritime industry for my company,” Offen said.
